Florence Marie Cressler was born on June 26, 1914 in Tasco, Sheridan County, Kansas, the seventh child of Walter Ellsworth Cressler and Shollota (Russell)Cressler. Florence passed away on August 8, 2002 at the Beehive Retirement Center in McCleary Washington.
She married Preston Odle on November 10, 1931 in Hill City Kansas. To this union four children were born; Leo Hugie Odle, Marvin Kenneth Odle, Larry Odle and Sharon Kay Odle.
Florence left Hoxie Kansas in 1936, traveling by train to Washington State to join Preston who had gone before her.
Preston was accidentally electrocuted at the factory where he worked on August 13, 1942.
Florence then married second husband, William Aubrey Curran in 1943, in McCleary Washington. Together they had one additional son, Ronnie A. Curran.
In 1954 they moved to Ellensburg Washington where she worked for Twin City Foods and Central Washington University. In the mid 1960's they moved to Vancouver Washington where she and Aubrey did maintenance and house keeping for Vancouver Medical Clinic. After Aubrey died in 1975, she then moved to Olympia Washington in 1997, finally returning to McCleary in 1998.
Florence loved to dance, play the organ, take walks and grow tomatoes. She was a member of the Ellensburg Eagles and Womens Auxiliary of the Moose.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, three sisters and three brothers as well as one grandson.
She is survived by her four sons; Leo Odle (Karen), Kenneth Odle (Margaret), Larry Odle (Marilyn), and Ron Curran (Thomasine); one daughter, Sharon Eslinger (Dale).
Interment was in the McCleary Cemetery under the directions of Whiteside Family Mortuary, Elma Washington.
