ROBERT HOLMSTROM
VARNA: Robert M. Holmstrom, 67, of 11210 95th Street, Coal Valley, IL, formerly of Varna, died at 3:10 p.m. Sunday, June 24, 2001, at Oak Glen Nursing Home in Coal Valley.
He was born February 8, 1934, in Perrysburg, NY, to Lloyd and Edith Sprague Holmstrom.
Surviving are one sister, Maurine MacMillan of Colona; two brothers, William of Joliet and Duane of Magnolia; and several nieces and nephews.
One brother preceded him in death.
He was a Navy veteran, serving four years as a hospital corpsman.
He worked for St. Mary's Hospital in Streator, IL, and later at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.
He then was a gas station manager for the Toluca Oil Company in Toluca, IL.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Varna Funeral Home, where visitation will be two hours before. The Rev. Lane Knouse will officiate. Cremation will be accorded after the service. Private burial of ashes will be in First Lutheran Cemetery #1 north of Varna at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Kidney Foundation.
