Obituary from the November 17, 1921 edition of The Wakefield Republican:
Mrs. A. J. Enckson, 51, died at
the St. Joseph's Hospital at Sioux
City Monday morning, November 14,
of peritonitis.
Funeral services were held at the
Mission church yesterday afternoon,
Rev. R. Swanson of Oakland conducting the services.
Burial took place in the Wakefield cemetery.
Mary Elizabeth Johnson was born in
Sweden, February 28, 1870 and
came to this country in the fall of
1889 and was married in 1891 to A. J. Erickson.
Three children were
born to this union, a daughter, who
passed away six years ago, and two sons,
Paul and Emil, who with the
husband are left to mourn the loss of
a loving wife and mother . She also
leaves a sister, Mrs. Gust Wenstrand,
two brothers,
Carl V. Johnson of Red Oak, Iowa,
amd Gust Johnson of Wausa, a father,
and a host of friends.
Mrs. Erickson was a woman of
good Christian character, a kind neighbor,
always ready to do her share in helping out
wherever needed, and will be missed by her
many friends. The family have the
sympathy of the entire community
in their sad bereavement.
