Glenn W. Nelson, 40-year-old first special service force veteran and native of Nebraska died early this morning at St. Peter's hospital. He had been a patient there since June 1.
Mr. Nelson was born in Oakland, March 16, 1908 and first came to Helena as a member of the famed special service force. He served in Company F, first regiment, of the force throughout its campaigns in Alaska and Europe, and returned here last year to make his home.
He had been employed at the American Smelting and Refining company's East Helena plant since August 1947.
Survivors include his father, Emil R. Nelson, and a brother in Oakland, and several other relatives in Nebraska.
