NOTE: Oscar's birth year (1857) stated above was submitted by Bo Holm, who has looked up birth records. Oscar's headstone has the date of 1859 and his obituary states his birth year as 1858.

Oscar, born Oskar Andersson, was the first of seven children born to Karl Johan and Anna Lovisa (Andersdotter) Andersson. Out of the seven children, Oscar was their only son.

Born in Sweden, Oscar immigrated to America November 13, 1879.
He spent the next 42 years of his life in the Osco and Andover area, except for four years when he and his family lived in Verdon, South Dakota.

Oscar married Carolina Wilhelmina "Minnie" Churling on September 21, 1883.
They were the parents of seven children, all of whom are linked to him in this memorial.

Oscar's siblings were:
Anna Sofia Andersson (immigrated to America October 2, 1880);
Hulda Paulina Andersson (immigrated to America July 28, 1882);
Inga "Lovisa" Andersson (immigrated to America May 15, 1883);
Emma Mathilda (Andersson) Wallenfeldt;
and her twin
Amelia "Emily" Carolina (Andersson) Forsberg;
and
Laura Susanna Andersson

It is unknown what became of Anna, Hulda and Inga.
