Silas was born in 1918, not 1913 like he told his family. Have documents to prove it. He grew up in the Elmira, NY area having lived in Elmira and Hector NY at various times. He worked for Western Union Telegraph in 1936 and for the WPA in 1940. He married a woman named Mary Henrietta but don't know her maiden name. Joined the Army in May of 1943 and that was the last known contact with his family or wife. He remarried in 1944, had three children. His family would very much like to make contact with any of his family from before the war. Please contact me if you know of anyone. Thank you!
