Anna Hager Olson The remains of Anna Hager Olson wife of Emil Olson, were brought here for burial on Monday last from Dodge City, Kansas, where she passed away October the first.
Mrs. Olson was born on April the twenty ninth in Varina, Ill. She came to this county with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Hager, when she was a child. She was educated in our schools and in the business school conducted in this city by Mrs. Herzberg. For the past nine years she has been connected with the Northern Lumber Company and was forced to resign her position with that firm when she became ill, and was compelled to undergo an operation.
She was united to Emil Olson of Dodge City, Kansas, on July the 28th of this years and they went at once to Dodge City to reside.
Miss Hager was a great church worker, was a woman who was always attentive to business and was very active and loyal to those who employed her and to her friends.
The funeral services were held here on Tuesday last from the Presbyterian church the Rev. Voorhies officiating. The remains were laid to rest in Oak Hill cemetery. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, October 7, 1925)
Mrs. Emil Olson Dies in Kansas; Bride 2 Months Burial at Estherville with Funeral Services from Presbyterian Church
Mrs. Emil A. Olson, known in Estherville as Miss Anna Hager, passed away at her home in Dodge City, Kansas, Thursday, Oct. 1, after a very brief illness. Mr. and Mrs. Olson were married but two months ago in Estherville and after a wedding trip were but nicely settled in their home. Mrs. Olson's death followed an operation for adhesions which she underwent on Tuesday. She had had a similar operation several months ago but was seemingly fully recovered.
Anna Hager was born in Winona, Ill., 37 years ago and had lived in Estherville with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Hager, for 15 years. She graduated from the Herzeburg Business College here and was with the Northern Lumber company as stenographer for nearly ten years. She was quiet and unassuming in her work and in her social activities but was highly efficient and in the Rebecca Lodge was placed in the highest position, that of Worthy Grand. She had innumerable friends here who deeply regret her untimely passing.
Funeral services were held from the Presbyterian church in this city Tuesday afternoon. Rev. G. Voohries of Fairfield, formerly her pastor here, was in charge of the services. Burial was made in Oak Hill cemetery. Mrs. Olson is survived by her husband, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Hager and two sisters, Mrs. Raymond Whiting of Fort Dodge and Mrs. Herman Hall of Rockford, Ill. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, October 7, 1925)
